It was announced on 10 Dec 2021 that there will be an additional 3% Hawaii County Accommodations Tax (HCTAT) levied upon all transient (short term rental) stays from 01 Jan 2022 going forward. Hawaii State & Hawaii County taxes now total 17.962%. For more information on this new tax, click here.

Hawai‘i Safe Travels restrictions ended on 25 Mar 2022 at 11:59 p.m. HST. Travelers arriving on 26 Mar 2022 and beyond will no longer be required to complete a Safe Travels application to enter Hawai‘i. Beginning at 12:00 a.m. HST, 26 Mar 2022, there will be no COVID-related requirements for arriving domestic (USA) passengers. Travelers arriving in Hawai‘i directly from international airports must still comply with U.S. federal requirements; consult with your airline.
